Machine operator
Machine operator in a vegetarian food production company
We are looking for a machine operator for our client The New Plant in Zoeterwoude. The company manufactures and distributes vegetarian products, i.e. food products that mimic the taste, appearance and texture of traditional meat, but are made from plant-based ingredients. Their products are designed for people who prefer a vegetarian or vegan diet or who wish to reduce their consumption of animal-based meat for health, ethical or environmental reasons.
Work
You are responsible for the optimal functioning, replenishment and operation of modern production machines in the semi-finished products department. Part of your job includes setting up machines and then test runs before starting production. You also ensure the correct supply of ingredients, some of which are automatically transported through the factory. You also carry out quality checks, according to hygiene rules, on the product produced. You focus on process and efficiency improvement. By adjusting, checking, adapting and continuously fine-tuning the machines, you ensure optimal results within the customer's strict product standards.
Thanks to your technical knowledge, you identify (future) problems and offer the right solution together with the technical department. You are prepared to take responsibility and ensure optimum machine maintenance. You are also closely involved in developing procedures for new products. In a growing organization, you help create new products using modern and innovative machines.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a similar position, preferably in the food industry.
- Has technical knowledge.
- Has a sense of responsibility and is well organised.
- Has good team working skills.
- Has knowledge of HACCP and health and safety regulations.
- Has no contraindications to working in colder environments (2-8 degrees).
- Has communication skills in English or Dutch.
- No contraindications to commute to work by bicycle.
- Availability for a minimum of 6 months and during the holiday period.
- Persons seconded to work in food companies are not allowed to have at work: false eyelashes, painted nails (gel nails, hybrid nails, etc. are prohibited), jewellery and piercings.
- The gross rate depends on skills and experience.
