Commis de cuisine  at a five-star hotel assisting the chef in preparing dishes.
Duties may include  preparing and measuring ingredients, preparing basic dishes, and decorating plates.
Ensuring that ingredients are stored correctly
Cleaning work surfaces and the kitchen
Disinfecting utensils and refrigerators
Under the direction of the Chef de Partie, the commis chef is therefore responsible for basic preparations: washing and cutting ingredients, etc.
