The location of Star Arctic Hotel on the top of Kaunispää guarantees an unforgettable experience for both our team members and our guests. The surrounding landscape and nature change daily throughout the season - from the beautiful colors of the polar night during the darkest time of winter to the spring sunshine making the snowy fells glow. Our hotel is family-owned, and this can also be felt in everyday life. A strong sense of community is one of the main reasons our employees say they enjoy working at Star Arctic Hotel.
As an employer, we are constantly developing with the goal of creating a work environment where everyone can feel comfortable being themselves. Our multicultural work community is seen as a great advantage by both employees and guests alike. During the busiest season, our team consists of 70 people working across ten different departments, each playing an equally important role in the Star Arctic story. Our goal is to build an open and transparent workplace culture through clearer communication, open discussion, and genuine listening.
We welcome our guests with warmth and professionalism. We all share one common goal in our work: to create meaningful and unforgettable experiences for our guests. Even in the middle of busy days, we take the time to listen to our guests and pay attention to their individual needs.
Our own activity production makes the experience unforgettable, ranging from snowshoeing trips and snowmobile safaris to Northern Lights hunting adventures. Just a short drive from the hotel is the Wilderness Center – the heart of our winter activities. Charming huskies and reindeer will take you on unique experiences, while our private pond invites you to enjoy relaxing ice fishing. You will also find our second restaurant here, where open fire and northern stories create a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
At Restaurant Kaunis, located within the hotel, local ingredients are showcased at their very best: whitefish caught from Lake Inari by our owner, influences from around the world, and a modern Nordic touch all come together in our cuisine. This is where our guests begin their day with breakfast, continue with lunch, and culminate it with dinner, all while enjoying the breathtaking surrounding views.
