What is North East Finland?

The area is made up of three neighbouring municipalities – Kuusamo, Posio and Taivalkoski. 

Kuusamo, Posio and Taivalkoski are home for 21 700 residents. These municipalities each have their own strengths and characteristics. Kuusamo, Posio and Taivalkoski are all located less than an hour’s drive from one another. You can for example work in one, live in another and visit the third one. Area can be reached for example with daily flights to Kuusamo airport. 

Municipalites are located in the north parts of Finland. Area is known from it´s beautiful nature and calm lifestyle. There are many national parks and natural phenomenons. Four different seasons are our strenght! Despite the closeness of nature, we also have good public services and lively cultural offerings. Here you can combine good quality of life and working for example as a distance work to somewhere else. 

The best employment opportunities in this region can be found in the travel and tourism industry, service sector, food industry, forest-based industries, metal industry as well as the social and healthcare sector. 

There are work opportunities available in large scale. High season for employment is the winter season.
