We are looking for specialized nurses within geriatrics for our geriatric clinic at Kalmar hospital. As a specialised nurse within geriatrics you take responsibility for ensuring that medical prescriptions are completed and that patients receive the care they need. You also have a lot of contact with the patient´s relatives. Our team consists of a good mixture of both experienced and new colleagues with fresh knowledge from universities. Together we create a workplace with great commitment and participation, where everyone gets the opportunity to be involved and influence decisions. The job includes working shifts (evenings, nights and weekends).
The geriatric clinic handles patients in inpatient care, at the reception and the emergency department. For inpatient care, priority is given to the frailest elderly in need of inpatient care. A large percentage of these are cognitively impaired. The majority of patients are admitted via the emergency department or emergency care department after primary assessment. The clinic has a geriatric department with 21 care places.

We will offer you an intense Swedish course, starting from B2-level up to C1-level.
Region Kalmar County will assist you with practical matters such as finding ackommodation, personal number, getting a bank account, contact with schools and kindergarten etc.
A licensed registered nurse (within EU/EES) with a specialization and/or experience from working at a geriatrics department. You are a great team player with a positive attitude. You are curious to learn and want to grow in your profession as a nurse. Our motto is that the best interest of the patient always comes first.
Before moving to Sweden we recommend you to reach B2 level in the Swedish language. Your license as a nurse needs to be recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare.
Your employment will start with an introduction period. We provide further language studies in Swedish to reach the C1 level. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory , it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.
All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary are set individually depending on your qualification and experience.
