If you like to explore new markets and build plans for growth with an entertainment vibe at heart, then consider leading our marketing team as Strategic Marketing Manager for the Immersive Experience Business Unit.

You will act as primary sparring partner to the VP Product & Marketing with a joined ambition to create right conditions for growth.

As our strategic marketing manager, you will mine through market trends and talk to industry experts to form insights that matter. You will work with customers, sales teams, product managers and other marketeers to build differentiating value propositions for themed entertainment, virtual reality and the broader ProAV market. You will need to make right trade-offs in focus & investments based on available budgets. You will work closely together with our product and sales teams to determine an optimal product & service portfolio which is activated via a solid Go-To-Market plan with tailored sales channels. You will also brief our marketing communication experts on campaigns needed to position Barco strongly into this space. Your role is instrumental in the transition of Barco as a company from a product/engineering DNA to a more customer-focused organization. Thanks to the versatile nature and level of top management exposure of this role, your experience as a strategic marketing manager will be the ideal steppingstone for leadership roles at Barco.

Your profile

Education:

• Master’s degree in fields of business, marketing or engineering

• MBA preferred Experience:

• 8 – 10 years of experience

• In-depth experience in product and/or strategic marketing management

• Must have affinity with B2B industry offering complex technology solutions

Competencies:

• Business strategy

• Problem solving skills

• Commercial activation

• Communication skills

• Change management

• Fluent in English – Dutch and/or French preferred

• You are flexible to travel internationally ca. 30% of your time.

You have in-depth experience in implementing relevant frameworks to map trends and insights, size & segment markets, build product value propositions for specific customer personae and work through business models. You are a strong strategic thinker, but also pragmatic & structured enough to set right focus and simply get things done. Being a self-starter, making small budgets work in a big way & challenging your team’s project plan of attack will be important. Being creative, curious & comfortable in challenging status quo is also crucial to be successful in this role. You have strong teamwork & communication skills to effectively navigate complex matrix organization structures and to build successful external relationships in the field.
