Your responsibilities

 

 

 

Uniper's Sustainability department supports the company in responsibly fulfilling its role as a driving force in the Energy Transformation. We are looking for a successor to the ‘Senior Vice President Sustainability’, who is retiring. In this role, you will lead a team with two departments in performing the following tasks:

 

  • Developing the Uniper-wide Sustainability Strategy and its implementation and monitoring through defined reporting and steering mechanisms. 
  • Supporting the Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) and the Human Rights Officer in the performance of their functions.
  • Coordination of Uniper's sustainability-related governance bodies such as the Sustainability Committee of the Supervisory Board and the cross-functional Uniper Sustainability Council.
  • Internal and external Sustainability reporting in accordance with laws and reporting standards (e.g. CSRD/ESRS, CDP, GRI, LkSG)
  • Carrying out the Materiality Analysis and ensuring Uniper's impact, risk and opportunity management.
  • Carrying out ESG project assessments for strategic and financial decision-making processes, including recommendations for possible improvements.
  • Conducting ESG Due Diligence reviews of contractual partners, in particular in the fulfilment of Due Diligence obligations in the supply chain in accordance with international laws and standards.
  • Provision and further development of a Uniper-wide ‘Greenhouse Gas’ (GHG) accounting system for internal management and external reporting.
  • Developing and implementing sustainability-related guidelines and regulations for Uniper.
  • Ensuring internal awareness and knowledge of Sustainability at Uniper through communication, training, and engagement.
  • Representing Uniper in national and international committees, associations, and multi-stakeholder initiatives on Sustainability topics.
  • Supporting the various corporate functions in presenting and discussing sustainability-related topics with external stakeholders such as customers, investors, banks, etc.
  • Monitoring and implementation of external sustainability-related requirements (laws, codes, standards, ratings & rankings) in close cooperation with other functions. 
  • Identification and evaluation of critical international non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for regular confidence-building dialogues and possible cooperation.

Your profile

 

 

  • Relevant University degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration or Economics
  • Understanding of and experience in Sustainability and proven track record in developing Sustainability Initiatives on a corporate level
  • Strong Leadership skills and experience
  • Strategic understanding of Uniper's businesses as well as strong analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills with experience in onboarding new partners or stakeholders.
  • Experience of initiating improvements, leading change, and managing projects, OE excellence
  • Proven management capabilities across hierarchy, technology and country boundaries and excellent leadership skills to manage teams with cultural diversity.
