Nord Anglia International School, Dublin, is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic School Librarian to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop our library provision, fostering a love of reading and supporting learning across all year groups in an international and inquiry-driven environment.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate and organised professional to lead the development and day-to-day operation of our school library, with responsibilities including:

  • Managing the library collection, ensuring a diverse, up-to-date, and engaging range of resources that support the curriculum and promote reading for pleasure.
  • Supporting students and teachers with research, information literacy, and digital resource use across the IB Primary, Middle Years, and Diploma Programmes.
  • Planning and delivering engaging reading initiatives, book clubs, and literacy events that celebrate a love of literature.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff to integrate library and research skills into classroom learning.
  • Managing the library budget and maintaining efficient systems for cataloguing, circulation, and resource tracking.
  • Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment where all students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and read.
  • Promoting responsible use of information, including academic honesty and digital citizenship.
  • A clear commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

 

  • A degree or qualification in Library and Information Science, Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a school or academic library, ideally within an international or IB context.
  • Strong knowledge of information and digital literacy frameworks, with the ability to support students’ independent learning and research.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with staff and students.
  • Proficiency in using library management systems and educational technology to enhance access to resources.
  • A passion for promoting reading, inquiry, and lifelong learning across a diverse student community.
