VikingGenetics is extending the Nordic VikingEmbryo program, starting up industrial IVF Embryo production in Denmark. This is your opportunity to work in an international multidisciplinary team at the leading edge of bovine reproduction biotechnology. At VikingGenetics, the working environment mirrors that of a high-capacity industrial production facility, significantly contrasting with traditional academic settings such as institutes, universities, or research labs.
 

The Vet Specialist will be overall responsible for all routine embryo production procedures and will contribute to the successful completion of preventative medicine, nutrition, and reproductive programs and the overall herd health of the donor stations. 



Your main tasks will be:

  • Coordinate the day-to-day technical operation of the VikingEmbryo production team in Denmark. 
  • Monitor the achievement of forecasted production goals. 
  • Develop and oversee production procedures, including feeding, donor management, MO reproduction protocols, embryo recoveries and OPU, ET lab, IVM, sperm prep, IVF, IVC of embryos, cryopreservation and loading and delivery of fresh and frozen embryos. 
  • Serve as a live animal biology expert and resource for the international VikingEmbryo production team and support and educate team members. 
  • Make OPU and ET (barn and lab hands-on activities) 
  • Make OPU and ET production planning. 
  • Support animal logistics and biosecurity 
  • Support herd health, FF activity, recipient, and co-op farms. 
  • Integrally co-operate and collaborate with the VikingDanmark ET Team and VikingGenetics Genetic Development Team in building one VikingEmbryo process chain across organizations and departments.

VikingGenetics in Assentoft, Randers will be a primary workplace but 2 – 3 days a week, you will be doing routine production on donor stations in the region. 

Travel days must be expected.

 

We expect you to have:

  • Able to effortlessly and fluently interact and communicate with Danish farmers and VikingDanmark field staff in Danish.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-centric, detail-orientated, and highly organized. 
  • Experience in leading, training or developing live animal operations and operators. 
  • Collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, independently under pressure with deadlines.
  • Preferred expertise in reproductive cells, tissues, and experience in cell culture and embryology.

Exigences professionnelles

Your qualifications:

  • An EU-applicable veterinary education and license to independently work as a practicing veterinarian with prescription rights in Denmark.
  • Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills. 
  • A valid driver's license.
