Do you like challenges within measurements and structural analysis of dynamic structures, and would you like to be part of the sustainable development of wind energy at DONG Energy Wind Power? Join us and become our new Structural Engineer in the Structural Design department within foundations and substructures for offshore wind turbine projects. The department is part of Wind Power which has 1400 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our office in Skærbæk near Fredericia or in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work, both between the two offices and in connection with site visits. Areas of responsibility In close cooperation with our measurement team in Wind Assessment & Layout and stakeholders in Loads Aerodynamics & Control, Geotechnical Engineering and WTG Mechanical, your main responsibility will be to improve our knowledge regarding the structural behaviour of our existing designs. Furthermore, you will be responsible for ensuring that certification requirements regarding measurement and monitoring of certain details are met. You will contribute to the improvement of our future foundation designs by analysing and reporting the actual behaviour of the support structure for wind turbines. Your main tasks will be: •specification, initiation and coordination of structural load measurement campaigns on future projects •participation in relevant meetings with suppliers and ensuring that the requirements are met •analysis of data in cooperation with Loads Aerodynamics & Control and documentation of key findings •involvement in standardisation processes of the measurement setup. Your profile You hold at least a BSc in engineering or physics or another technical degree at a similar level which is relevant to structural measurements and analysis. You have some years of experience, preferably with the design and/or measurement of steel structures in offshore environments. Through your education and work experience, you have gained knowledge of the physical behaviour of structures, measurements, data acquisition systems and setups. This unique combination enables you to discuss and determine the necessary measurement setup in order to meet stakeholder and certification requirements regarding measurements of offshore structures. You are open-minded, and you thrive working with stakeholders outside our department with different focus areas. You possess good communication skills, and you have the ability to find pragmatic solutions that fulfil a pre-established set of specifications.
