The Fixed Networks Division is one of the key divisions in Nokia focusing on making Ultra Broadband Access possible for all users in the world. The fixed access product portfolio consists out of Fiber and Copper Access technology. In both domains the ASIC and FPGA System On Chips (SoC’s) are the heart of the system, making it possible for Nokia to have differentiating products at the right cost points.

Continuous innovation is required in the FTTH product line and in the DSL product line, with next generation PON technologies and next generation DSL technologies on our roadmap (like xGPON/ NGPON2, System Level vectoring, G.Fast…)

What you will learn and contribute to



As part of our team, you will:

  • Develop and design the Nokia xPON SoC system architecture and feature set, ensuring alignment with application requirements from PLM
  • Evaluating selecting and driving integration of various IPs both internal and external
  • Define, analyze and model architecture to ensure best performance
  • Participate the Design, develop and verify key IPs like network processor/traffic management inside Nokia xPON SOC
  • Coordinate with Design, Verification, Firmware and back-end teams to ensure successful project from specification to tape-out and bring-up
  • Support Design and Verification in pre and post silicon to ensure features meet the architectural requirements.
  • Participate in bring-up and test of initial silicon
  • Write SOC level architecture specifications and other documentation in a clear and concise fashion
  • Facilitate PLM for customer technical documentation and presentation
Exigences professionnelles
  • Master or PhD in Electrical, Computer, Systems, Telecommunications Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ experience with proven track record as SoC lead architect on several production tapeouts.
  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog
  • Expertise in ARM, MIPS, RISC specifications and their impact to SoC system architecture
  • Experience with generic communication IPs selection, configuration, and integration.
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety and reliability
  • Knowledge of chip-to-chip interfaces and packaging technology
  • Highly motivated, able to work independently and demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and creative skills with the ability to multitask in a demanding and fast paced environment
  • Good communication skills with solid spoken and written English, comfortable to work in a multi-site international team
