Wellbeing services county of North Savo provides all public social, health, rescue and security services in the county of North Savo, which includes 19 municipalities and cities. With 12 700 employees, including 2800 nurses and 900 physicians, it is the biggest employer in North Savo, providing social and healthcare services from primary health care to specialized medical care for more than 248,000 inhabitants,. Together with the Kuopio University Hospitals' specialized medical care services, the country serves nearly a million inhabitants in Eastern Finland.
As a doctor, you will work as an expert in your own field in a multiprofessional working group. Your work will include the following responsiblities:
- Examining, treating, and rehabilitating short-stay patients
- Working in an interprofessional team with nurses and physiotherapists
- Receiving support from other physicians and consulting physicians from specialized care
- Writing discharge summaries, status reports, and epicrisises
- Performing minor procedures, such as wound closure, cystostomy, and arterial blood sampling
- Writing referrals, such as X-ray referrals, referrals to specialized care, and M1 referrals
- Prescribing medications and writing opinions
- Participating in off-hours ward rounds, after an adaptation period

What is the offer?
A unique opportunity to start your Nordic career and reimagine your future in North-Savo:
Contract
A full-time, 2 year fixed term contract, during which you will apply for permanent position (in accordance to the Finnish law) with 38 hours 15 minutes per week working time
Prior to licencing
A basic monthly, full-time salary of a doctor in status L3SL001B ( 2 717,61 € /month before taxes & social contributions) prior to reaching your licenced status and when working in Finland.
After recognition
After receiving licenced status in Finland, a basic monthly salary starting from
5 218,54€/ month without specialization (L3SL001C) and
7 435,89€/ month with specialization (L3SL002A) before taxes & social contributions but including the location bonus (*please, see above).
Additional compensation
Personal salary additions are available based on educational background and ability to perform in demanding tasks.
Vacations
Minimum 23 days per year starting after the first full working year acting as basis for calculations. Previous accepted work experience from with EU /EEA area will add vacation days in accordance to experience years. Maximum is 38 vacation days yearly.

Qualifications
At least a Masters level degree from Medical school within the EU/EEA - area (2005/36/EU) and Registered Medical Doctor / Specialist Doctor -status within EU/EEA.
Records
A clean Criminal Record & Record of Good Standing as required by the Finnish Law
Experience
Preferrably 3 years of previous work experience as registered professional within EU/EEA.
Attitude
An independent & responsible attitude, with good communication & team working skills
Commitment to training
Commitment to a free-of-charge language training program, and to study a minimum 20 hrs per week in order to reach a B1 level of Finnish language at the end of the training
Commitment to relocation
Commitment to relocating and starting work in Finland after reaching your target in language training
Considered as a plus
fluent English language skills. Intermediate English language skills are required.
