National Oilwell Varco Inc. is a global, expanding and innovative company. We are about to establish an Engineering office in Lisbon and are therefore seeking to appoint talented engineers within the disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation, Hydraulics, Structural Calculation and Software & Automation. Our aim is that NOV Portugal, which is a subsidiary of National Oilwell Varco Norway, shall have 70-80 skilled engineers before January 2014. The workplace will be at our office in Lisbon, working with our divisions in Norway.
Design Engineers, Crane & Winch
The Crane & Winch group has the responsibility for designing and delivering a number of different crane and winch products to the drilling and construction market. Due to a very pleasant and long term backlog we are now seeking qualified and talented Design Engineers.

Work assignments:
• Detail design in Autodesk Inventor in accordance with NOV’s guidelines
• Drafting of complete project-specific drawing packages for production
• Technical clarifications with workshops/sub-contractors/sites

Qualifications and skills:
• Engineering education (Master’s or Bachelor’s degree);
• It is desirable that you have relevant experience of mechanical design;
• Experience in using 3D design tools such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor or other 3D tools will be an advantage;
• Experience from project implementation, project systems and document handling systems;
• Good communication skills, structured approach, be flexible and quality-conscious;
• Good written and verbal presentation abilities in Portuguese and English are required;
• Personal skills/profile will be emphasized.

There will be in some cases an initial training period in Norway for up to 3 months.
We will evaluate permanent employment with NOV Portugal after 9-12 months engagement.
