As a dental nurse/assistant, you are a crucial part of the dental care team. You will work closely with both dental hygienists and dentists to provide the best possible care together. The dental assistant role is varied, and during a day, you may assist, prepare treatments, take X-rays, make appointments, manage records, and ensure hygiene and safety procedures are followed. You are communicative and play an important role in providing information and advice to the patient.
Your future workplace:
With 14 clinics, we provide general dental care in all 12 municipalities of the county, from Torsås in the south to Gamleby in the north, and of course, Öland in the east! These clinics work closely with specialist dental care, which covers all specialist areas and is offered in our larger coastal cities: Kalmar, Oskarshamn, and Västervik.

Kalmar County is located along Sweden’s southeastern coast, known for its warm and sunny weather. Here, you have access to Småland’s deep forests and beautiful archipelago, as well as our summer gem, Öland. From Oskarshamn and Västervik, there are year-round ferry connections to the beautiful island of Gotland. Kalmar County is connected to Europe through an air link between Frankfurt and Kalmar. Ferries also operate from various locations in southern Sweden to Germany and Poland.
Terms of employment:
Before moving to Sweden we recommend you to reach B2 level in the Swedish language. We provide further language studies in Swedish to reach the C1 level. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by Region Kalmar, it will automatically turn into a permanent position. All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary is set individually depending on your qualification and experience. You will receive continuous information and support from Region Kalmar regarding relocation, establishment and language education. If you are an EU/EES citizen you may be eligible for support from EURES: EURES Targeted Mobility Scheme.
Support after moving to your new home in Sweden:
An intensive language course to reach C1 level in Swedish. Information regarding practical matters, such as social security number, bank accounts, etc. We will also give you information about housing, schools, kindergarten etc.
