Do you want to work with us as an Assistant Head Chef and provide customers with a fantastic dining experience?

We are now looking for an Assistant Head Chef for a 100% position. Working hours will primarily be in the evening. The position reports to the Head Chef and F&B Trainee. We are looking for a start date of April 1, 2025. Applications are processed continuously, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Hotel Union Geiranger is a historic spa, conference, and destination hotel, offering opportunities for both small and large conferences, meetings, banquets, dining experiences, and more. The hotel is located deep in the Geirangerfjord, the only area in the country that is included in UNESCO’s prestigious World Heritage List due to its natural value.

Exigences professionnelles

Responsibilities/Tasks

· Follow-up and training of kitchen staff

· Co-responsibility for inventory control, purchasing, and stocktaking

· Quality assurance of production and service

· Ensuring that dinner service meets our standards

· Creative menu and concept development, as well as planning menus together with the Head Chef

· Food safety and internal control (IK-Mat)

· Follow-up with suppliers and deliveries

· Actively working to reduce food waste

· Acting as the Head Chef’s deputy

Atout

To thrive in this position, it is beneficial if you:

· Have experience from a similar position

· Hold a certificate of apprenticeship as a chef

· Are fluent in both Norwegian and English, spoken and written

· Have strong communication skills with both guests and colleagues

· Have good knowledge of Norwegian food safety regulations (IK-Mat) in both theory and practice

· Have a solid understanding of kitchen operations

· Are adaptable, solution-oriented, and detail-focused

· Enjoy working independently and are confident in making your own decisions

· Are proactive and take initiative

· Enjoy and have the ability to build a strong team and work environment
