Labour market July 2024
At the end of July, 355 people were registered as unemployed at the Liechtenstein Public Employment Service (AMS FL). The unemployment rate in July remained unchanged from the previous month at 1.7%. Compared to the same month last year, the unemployment rate increased by 0.5 percentage points.
Youth unemployment
Youth unemployment (15 to 24-year-olds) fell by 10 people to 25. Compared to the same month last year, the number decreased by 2 people. The youth unemployment rate was 1.2% (previous month: 1.6%). Compared with the same month a year earlier, this decreased by 0.1 percentage points.
Other age groups
In the age group of 25 - 49 years, unemployment remains unchanged at 195 people. This corresponds to a rate of 1.8% (previous month: 1.8%).
In the 50-plus age group, unemployment fell by 2 people to 135. This corresponds to a rate of 1.7% (previous month: 1.7%).
Persons in interim earnings
At the end of July, 82 people were working in interim earnings. Compared to the previous month, this number increased by 6 people. Compared to the same month last year, this corresponds to an increase of 24 people. Interim earnings are considered to be any income from self-employment or employment, which also suspends or reduces the receipt of daily unemployment benefits.
Dynamics of arrivals and departures at AMS FL
The number of additions to the AMS FL in the reporting month is 58 people. This corresponds to 20 fewer people than in the previous month. The number of departures amounted to 63 people. This corresponds to 15 more people than in the previous month.
Reported vacancies
The number of vacancies reported to the AMS FL is 989 jobs compared to 966 in the previous month. Compared to the same month last year, 51 more jobs are reported.
Short-time working
In the month under review, no company is entitled to compensation due to short-time work for economic reasons.
