We are looking for a kitchen chef for our staff to develop and produce new and exciting, different kinds of restaurant experiences in our highly interesting, high-quality restaurant milieu for visitors coming from around the world. You are mainly responsible, together with the restaurant chef, of the opening, the development and operation of the new kitchen in the SnowCastle area.

For the moment we are constructing the year-round Main Building for the Kemi SnowCastle region, opening it by the end of this year. In our products we concentrate in offering local, uniquely adventuresome experiences as well as experiences in what snow and ice can offer, throughout all the four seasons. The new building will include versatile services supporting tourism. The main restaurant will be suitable for versatile occasions for both small and large groups. The restaurant will introduce a new and modern arctic menu; the Ice-cream Bar will offer home-made ice-cream. The main attraction, of course, is the cold space of 400 square metres, where visitors can admire the snow- and ice-sculpting exhibitions; the SnowRestaurant and IceBar are located here also. In addition, the building will include sauna- and recreational services, program services, and the souvenir shop. The year-round SnowCastle building will serve international and national visitors as well as locals, and will serve also people attending conferences organized in the area. In the winter, as usual, we build the SnowCastle in the area, with, amongst others, the SnowHotel and -café within its walls.

The requirements include previous experience in the management of à la carte- and charter restaurant. You are passionate about food; you are willing to develop the food product according to the concept, and you are willing to teach and motivate your team members to achieve the goals. A professional who is enthusiastic, not shy of smiling; who is excited about challenges and who inspires his/her team to top performance, fares well with us. You can handle shift work and you understand that tourism is a constantly changing line of business, demanding flexibility, and the understanding of the nature of seasonal work. You possess organizational skills in changing situations, and you function well under pressure. You can handle well large entities, in addition of also being customer-oriented, enthusiastic and good in sales, as well as logical and consistent in leading your team. You lead your team and your work through your own example, with a positive and outward oriented attitude. Your communication is inspiring, enthusiastic with your work community, customers and co-operators. The field and the development of the field, motivates you. You work well using English language, other languages are for advantage. The amount of employees changes according to the season.

The employment is full-time and valid for the time being. The work starts 1st of October 2018, or as agreed. The position will be filled as soon as an appropriate person is found. In case needed, we assist in finding a place to live in. In Kemi you live reasonably in the centre, close to services, in the vicinity of nature, and with convenient connections to other parts of Finland.
