Job description Electrical engineer
• Develops a range of electrical engineering deliverables, including specifications, calculations, reports, technical requisitions, material requisitions and others.
• Administer the packages of the electrical engineering group.
• Uses technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce a range of electrical engineering deliverables (including more complex tasks) with limited guidance and direction from more senior technical professionals.
• Ensure that Electrical Engineering activities are executed according to the project procedures, specifications and standards, good engineering practices and techniques, and any project-specific requirements.
• Supervise the day-to-day (if any) engineering interfaces between PMC core engineering group, Project Management team and the engineering teams assigned to the EPC package – includes interaction with all other specialist disciplines as required.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering changes with customer and EPC contractor as necessitated by design development and ensure core team are made aware of these.
• Participate in key customer reviews and meetings as required.
• Participate in project reviews, value engineering and value improvement workshops with customer / contractor.
• Participate in (Global) meetings and reviews.
• Input engineering procedures and work practices in conjunction with Core Electrical Lead as appropriate
• Responsible for estimating electrical discipline manhours and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.
• Review vendor documentation.
• Carryout Site Surveys and develop site survey reports.
Profile:
• Bsc or Msc Degree in relevant discipline, preferably Electrical or Electronics engineering
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in major oil / gas refinery / petrochemical projects in the capacity of senior electrical engineer with engineering contractor / PMC organization.
• Fully familiar with international codes, standards and recommended practices to be adopted during EPC phases of oil / gas projects.
• Must have the capacity to supervise and manage EPC Contractors and development of detail design deliverables.
• Must have proven ability to contribute during development of electrical system studies.
• Fluent English is a must, knowledge of French or German and Dutch is a plus.
• Experienced in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation.
