We are looking for a Test Engineer for our laboratory in Aalborg, Denmark, who is dedicated to validating the properties and integrity of our Blade materials and structural details in our Blade designs through continuous testing. The main task of the laboratory is to enable a better understanding of our materials and structural details, through tests and development of test methods.

As a Test Engineer you will be part of a highly motivated team where cross organizational cooperation is a necessity. Your primary area of responsibility will be in the areas of static and dynamical testing of Blade materials. Further, you will work with the development of test methods for characterization of fiber reinforced polymers and sandwich materials, as well as different assembly methods and surface protection systems.

What are my responsibilities?

· You will be responsible for carrying out the proper mechanical testing of materials (static and dynamic tests)

· Development of test methods, equipment and lab facilities

· Ensuring the proper maintenance and calibration of test equipment and machinery

· Ensuring close contact and collaboration with local and international testing companies/institutions and suppliers of test equipment and technologies

· Specification and ordering of tests including follow-up and test reporting

 

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· You hold a Master degree within Mechanical Engineering or similar, and you are specialized in, or have experience with, mechanical testing of sandwich materials and FRP-materials

· Ideally you have experience with analysis of composite materials and polymers, preferably of glass and carbon fiber reinforced polymers

· You are familiar with extensometers, load cells, thermocouples, strain gauges and other related sensors and systems. Moreover you are knowledgeable about closed loop hydraulic test systems (used for tension – tension fatigue testing)

· You have experience with LabVIEW and NI modules (or similar) used for various test lab measurements such as strain, temperature, force, etc.

· You have a good and solid understanding of the principles and practical uses of data acquisition (DAQ)

· Experience with Matlab, DIC and DOE will be an advantage

· You are an expert user of Microsoft Office, primarily Excel. Experience in setting up test plans and documentation of experiments is a requirement, whereas experience with Minitab, LEAN and Six Sigma working methods will be perceived as an advantage

· As a person, you are inventive, persistent and outgoing and you have a systematic and structured approach to your assignments

· You thrive in a dynamic and international environment with many cross-cultural interfaces

· You hold a solid theoretical background and possess the ability to convey important and critical information both in speech and written

· Furthermore, you possess excellent English skills both orally and in writing
