System Engineer LINUX

As Linux System Engineer you are responsible for design and maintenance of the Linux server infrastructure.

Your tasks and responsibilities are:

• The design and management of the Linux environments
• Defining projects that you realise independently, together with colleagues or together with suppliers
• Determining the concepts and standards of the environment in accordance with the vision and strategy of the company
• Acting as the last internal link in the support process of the ICT department
• Co-building a high-performance and stable IT environment
• You remain in close contact with the development and architecture team

Profile:

You have a bachelor's degree in ICT and you have at least five years' relevant experience. You are familiar with managing and supporting projects. You have knowledge of the assigned technology domain:

- Linux

• Distributions (including SLES, RedHat, Oracle Linux, ...)
• Updates (Zypper, YaST, Yum, apt)
• Configuration (mdadm, Samba, postfix, systemd, init.d)
• Security (AppArmor, SELinux, PAM)
• Monitoring & tuning (top, strace, tcpdump, dstat)

- PHP, Apache, nginx, redis... 

- Containers (docker, kubernetes) 

- Automation, scripting and relevant tools

You are familiar with concepts such as load-balancing and high availability. Security and stability are your first priority. You have notions of ITIL and experience with ticketing tools.
