Beschreibung des Stellenangebots

We are looking for a new colleague specialised in surgical techniques in rodents to join our highly skilled in vivo Pharmacology Research team.

Gubra is an ambitious biotech company striving for excellence at all levels. We insist on doing things efficiently – and often differently - to reach the results we aim for. Our vision is to become leaders in the fight for a more sustainable and healthier world. We do that by facilitating the discovery of new medicine, and by acting and inspiring others to fight against the ongoing climate and biodiversity crises.

Pharmacology Research supports our contract research services (CRO) as well as our early target and drug discovery programs by conducting in vivo studies. We work with a variety of rodent models of diabetes, obesity, NASH, and diabetic complications related to the kidneys and cardiovascular system.

You have experience and interest in rodent microsurgery (mice and rats). Your background and previous experience could be from a role as laboratory technician, veterinarian, scientist, or animal technician within the area of in vivo pharmacology. You are self-motivated and can navigate and collaborate in an energetic organization. At Gubra, we strongly believe in advancing science by continuously testing our hypotheses and trying to answer questions by conducting scientific studies in the animal facilities or in the laboratory. As a surgical specialist in our Pharmacology group, you are supporting this vision by taking ownership of the given responsibilities and tasks.

Your tasks as in vivo surgical specialist are varied but include;

  • Involvement in a variety of rodent models in diabetes, obesity, NASH and diabetic complications.

  • Perform surgical procedures in rodents (mice and rats) and contribute to the establishment of new surgical techniques.

  • All types of requested surgical procedures including e.g. nephrectomy, unilateral ureteral obstruction, liver biopsy, hepatectomy, myocardial infarction or insertion of catheters.

  • Sampling and handling of tissue/organs/blood.

  • Participation in study planning and daily logistics.

  • Collaboration with animal technicians, technicians and scientists across the organization.

Professional qualifications

  • Skilled in surgical techniques in rodents.

  • General hands-on experience with in vivo pharmacology such as tissue/organ/blood sampling and handling.

  • Educational background as laboratory technician, veterinarian, scientist, or animal technician.

  • Good communication skills.

Personal qualifications

  • Keen to take on responsibility within your area of expertise.

  • Curious by nature, motivated by data and not afraid of technical challenges.

  • Proactive and able to initiate, focus and deliver on tasks and projects.

  • Able to navigate and collaborate in an energetic and rapidly changing organization.

Please apply no later than May 16th 2021 by uploading your motivated cover letter and CV on our website. We accept applications written in both Danish and English. Please note, that we will evaluate applications on an ongoing basis.

If you have any questions about the position, please contact Signe Humle Jørgensen, Area Head at +45 5121 0737.
