The Information Security & Technology Risk (IS&TR) division provides enterprise-wide application & security services for Fidelity’s business units.  The Enterprise Identity and Access management group (EIAM) within IS&TR is responsible for providing a wide range of security solutions including Access Governance & Provisioning, Web Access Management, Platform Authentication and Identity Management solutions.

 

We are currently seeking a Senior Data Warehouse Engineer to work within the Access Governance & Provisioning function.  The role will be responsible for the development of identity and access management products and solutions, focusing primarily on the datawarehouse and database components.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Design, implement, integrate, deploy and maintain Data Warehouse solutions, involving a combination of custom software and/or vendor products (such as Informatica, Pentaho, etc.)
  • Perform detailed functional, technical analysis and architecture/ design around the data layer
  • Datawarehouse system integration with other architectural layers such as UI, Web, Services and Application
  • Implement technology ‘proof-of-concepts’ using Data Warehousing technologies
  • Work with various stakeholders to understand and define technical system requirements.
  • Analyze, model & document datawarehouse & source systems to capture objects, fields, & mapping business rules
  • Develop and maintain ETL packages to maintain and enhance data extract and load processes.
  • Maintain the datawarehouse solution and ensure its availability; monitor and reconcile weekly loads and troubleshoot issues
  • Develop enhancements and maintain the existing custom solution using Oracle PL/SQL
  • Create/integrate/deploy/maintain hardened technical environments utilizing a mix of custom and vendor products
  • Provide inputs and work proactively with the QA team to support testing, primarily through the resolution of defects and technical issues
  • Support post-implementation issue resolution and deployment within the production environment
  • Provide accurate and timely status reporting, including issues/ risks prohibiting progress
  • Communicate and collaborate on technical activities with team members in Ireland, US and India
  • Collaborate with other functional teams including Product Management, Architecture, System Analysis and QA
  • Drive, establish and adhere to engineering industry best practices and utilize best-of-breed technologies (data modeling tools, ETL tools, data quality tools)
  • Create and drive system documentation around the solution

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Degree qualified in IT, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of IT experience in developing, integrating, deploying and managing complex Data Warehousing ETL solutions in a complex organizational environment, which will include extensive experience of the following:
    • technical analysis, data modeling, data Warehouse and database design, architecture and implementation
    • ETL tools such as Informatica or Pentaho
    • developing database systems with Oracle PL/SQL
    • system integration of DW systems with larger/ wider business systems and applications

 

Skills and Knowledge

 

  • Strong ability to work in an integrated team environment involving internal teams and external teams from vendor and professional services firms
  • Experience working with project teams located in multiple geographic locations
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills
  • Good oral and written communication/interpersonal skills and strong presentation skills.
  • Self-driven individual, who can drive actions and tasks
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts, regardless of the technical level of the audience 
  • Good people interaction, collaboration and relationship building skills across multiple functions
  • Proven track record of implementing industry best practices and tools
  • Experience of Agile projects and tools such as Rational Team Concert

 

Desirable:

  • Security domain experience - especially identity and access management or Security Certification a plus
  • Identity and Access Management Platform (such as OIM, Novell, etc.) experience
  • XML, SOAP, Web Services knowledge
  • End-to-end analysis, architecture, design and implementation using technologies such as Java and .Net
  • Financial systems knowledge (preferably brokerage or mutual fund knowledge with an emphasis on portfolio modeling/allocation, separate account management, etc.)
