About the position

We have an exciting opportunity for you who want to develop your knowledge and skills at our Quality Hotel Skifer in Oppdal. We are looking for a Sous Chef to start before the summer season with a permanent contract! WHO ARE WE? Quality Hotel Skifer is a hotel in the center of Oppdal, a town 120km south of Trondheim. We are proud to offer our guests a menu that is inspired by our local producers and our surroundings. The open kitchen solution create a great atmosphere for our guests, and also for our chefs to showcase and practice their profession while they create the most delicious meal. The main restaurant can accommodate up to 230 guests at a time, and we have banquet facilities and a terrace in addition to that.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-responsibility for leading the kitchen team.
  • Be the deputy to the Head Chef when needed.
  • Involvement in menu and concept development at all times.
  • Follow up food safety routines.
  • Food production with consistently high quality.
  • Contribute to an excellent service level in close dialogue with the rest of the team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in Norway
  • You have experience as a chef from the restaurant industry and are used to focusing on high quality and service in a busy everyday life. Ideally, you have experience leading a kitchen team.
  • You are a skilled cook with good structure and organization of your work.
  • You have a great passion for Nordic cuisine and want to learn more.
  • You are motivated by being in a creative environment and are ready to provide input.
  • Fluent in English and/ or Scandinavian language.
  • You like to lead other people and are good at adapting to the person you are talking to.
