At Danfoss a Sourcing Project Manager is responsible for leading sourcing projects from initial ideation through production, managing all aspects of direct material savings projects and developing strategic initiatives to align Global Procurement and Business Unit objectives. Key Responsibilities •Support New Product Development with new product projects, through launch as Procurement expert •Collaborate with Global/Regional Category Managers and Engineering Teams to develop plans that identify the pipeline of projects including best cost country sourcing, category savings and lead time reduction •Lead effective and efficient implementation of all approved material savings projects including cost reductions, supplier consolidation, re-sourcing, value engineering, and support of product launches •Form and manage cross-functional project teams, timelines, action plans, savings, expenses, relationship outcomes, supplier selection process, early supplier involvement, facilitation of design for manufacture and prototype order requirements •Coordinate activities and collaborate with Global/Regional Category Managers and Product Development Teams to achieve the optimum (TCO) cost, quality and delivery from suppliers using a variety of Procurement tools including Should-Cost Models •continuous improvement activities with Engineering, Operations and suppliers relating to SKU rationalization/standardization, value engineering techniques, vendor-managed inventory, consignment and replenishment programs to reduce cost and improve the availability of materials/products. Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, project management or other related filed and 5+ years’ experience in procurement, project management, or technology •Experience in a lean manufacturing environment working with electronics and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies strongly preferred •Proven management of all assigned resources to a successful outcome, including: capital, tooling, fixtures, labor and cross functional teams •Proven ability to clear and timely written and verbal communication •Ability to work fluidly in a highly cross-functional matrix environment involving manufacturing and product development teams, as well as supply chain specialists, manufacturing engineers, and logistics personnel The application process will remain open until the position has been filled.
