As Software test (QA) engineer you will: ◊ do the testing of a number of features you signed up for. ◊ have the final responsibility to decide if these features and the router can be shipped to our customers. ◊ also guard the overall product quality once deployed. Goal ◊ To gain a lot of complex knowledge in a short time frame as you need to become an expert in a number of specific internet areas and get a good overview of all functionality within an internet router. ◊ Follow-up the evolutions in the internet world. ◊ Be in close contact with the hardware and software developers, the product managers, the sales and presales, people and the support teams. ◊ Fully test all aspects of your features. ◊ Understand the challenges of a real-time operating system and have a feeling for weaknesses in software and hardware designs. ◊ Be very creative in order to simulate complex real-live situations and overcome any constraints. ◊ Work very efficiently, automate any test that you want to repeat or any test where you need to validate, many combinations. ◊ Be able to cope with the responsibility of delivering the feature you committed to. ◊ Keep in mind the customer’s point of view.
Profile:
You will obtain this year an engineering degree or a degree in computer science or have up to 5 years of experience.
Experiences with Linux, with IP networking, with programming languages (preferably scripting languages such as TCL, Python, Perl, bash) and with network test tools are considered assets.
You might want to work with us if you’re genuinely interested in computer networking and in SW testing for realtime systems, you are creative and highly efficient and you speak and write English fluently.
