  • The team provides infrastructure support and solutions to a large number of Version 1’s customers 
  • You will administer and support a large variety of enterprise & mid-level networks across multiple sectors (including banking, insurance government and utilities sectors). This is an excellent opportunity to get experience across a number of networks that you simply wouldn't get in other roles 
  • You will consult with our customers to enhance their networks and work on a variety of projects (systems, infrastructure etc) to implement changes that positively benefit them 
  • We need you to be able to look at an issue and offer a broad spectrum of solutions, how it may be resolved, impact in the infrastructure & environment 
  • You need to show initiative & drive in bringing solutions to our customers – be solutions driven, not solution imposed

From Microsoft Server to Exchange to Cluster Services and Virtualization, every day you will apply your network administration and infrastructure skills.

This includes operating and troubleshooting Windows/SAN/ NAS environments, applying your knowledge of Active Directory design to working with SSCM, WSUS & IIS.

What skills do I need to succeed in this job?

  • For us it’s really all about your experience and troubleshooting skills 
  • In this fast moving role, we need you to have the underlying skills to take logical steps and follow a process to quickly identify and resolve issues, in tight timescales 
  • As a minimum, we look for 3+ Windows Systems Administration experience 
  • We don’t like long lists. However the team have put a lot of thought into this, and we feel that strong experience in the following areas is definitely needed 

*You will need to have worked on a number of projects, taking the tech lead role in delivering them (e.g. lead solution proposal design and implementation (*See tips for applying)

  • Microsoft Server 2003 – 2008 Administration 
  • Design and troubleshooting Microsoft Active Directory - Windows Server 2003, 2008 
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issue on Microsoft Exchange (2007/2010), Cluster services 
  • Enterprise Level HyperV & VMware 
  • Experience in working with SSCM, WSUS & IIS 
  • Knowledge of operation and troubleshooting SAN/NAS infrastructure 
  • Microsoft networking experience ( DHCP, DNS, WINS) 
  • Extremely process driven 

There are lots of other nice skills to have like Linux administration, Microsoft certification, but we’d be pretty happy if you had all of the above

We’re really focused on certification, so you can expect us to send you on ITIL certification and other relevant Microsoft areas
