SAFETY OFFICER

We are looking for candidates for the following position in our Terneuzen office:

Safety Officer (1 fte)



In this position you are responsible for ensuring that quality and safety management systems are in place, which meet applicable rules and regulations and you assist the Master with the implementation of the systems on board the vessels. You conduct vessel safety audits, participate in accident investigations and monitor the associated safety report. You ensure that the findings of the reports are monitored by the responsible parties (vessel crew, Ship Management staff). You act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) for the fleet in accordance with the ISM code and you are Company Security Officer (CSO) in accordance with the ISPS code. As Safety Officer you ensure appropriate training and coaching on safety and environmental aspects for vessel crews and office staff to meet regulations and improve safety awareness. In this position you report to the QHSE Manager and you are member of the Emergency Response Team.

To excel in this function you should have an Intermediate Vocational Education diploma (MBO) e.g. Occupational and Safety Education, a minimum of three years’ work experience in the maritime industry, preferably with seagoing experience on tanker vessels and proficient knowledge of Safety and Quality systems. Furthermore, you have excellent interpersonal, auditing and reporting skills and are able to communicate and influence at all levels within the organisation.Luogo di lavoro
