Do you have a keen interest and strong knowledge of Oracle database environments? Do you want to further deepen and specialize in this technology? In addition, do you have knowledge and/or sufficient interest to work with other database brands (MySQL, Postgres, …)? Are you willing to make the necessary efforts to obtain the necessary knowledge in this? Then Cegeka has a challenge for you! We are looking for a collaborator who can take up this database management role. Cegeka is supporting database solutions for customers in an on premise model in our own data centers or remotely, but also increasingly within the public cloud (Azure, OCI, …). Thorough knowledge in this field is an additional bonus. What does the job entail?
- Role as Oracle Database Administrator: (mandatory) You are responsible for the installations, upgrades and configurations of the Oracle database environments in order to successfully set up and manage the IT environment of the internal/external customer.
- You know most of the features of the latest database versions and can work with them according to the customer's requirements.
- On the basis of a rotation, you are responsible for the permanence and service to the end users to guarantee the agreed service levels. Sporadic work outside the traditional office hours is part of this.
- In a proactive and critical way you examine the IT-environment of the internal/external customers and you formulate the necessary improvement proposals. These can be in the domain of infrastructure improvements, as well as in the capacity to recommend code and application changes.
- You ensure up to date procedures and draw configurations in order to give the other engineers the necessary tools to guarantee the stability of the environment.
- You provide support for incidents with end users of the internal/external customer in order to limit or avoid interruption of the work.
- You have a drive to continuously learn, maximize your technical skills and apply them optimally within the organization.
- Role as Database Administrator for other brands: (acquired knowledge or sufficient interest to learn one or more) Most common other brands are: MS SQL, MySQL, Postgres.
- As a DBA, you are responsible for the smooth operation and life cycle management of the client's database environment. You will monitor the SLAs and help provide standby for the 24x7 watch on a rotating basis.
- You also make the necessary proposals to improve the customer environment. You are willing to go deep into the DB solution for these environments, perform analysis, script and document customization.
- Depending on the level of knowledge, you will receive additional training to be able to perform the above tasks with support from colleagues.
- Optional knowledge in Azure & OCI: (nice to have) Experience in setting up and managing environments in OCI are an important asset. The gradual expansion of our customer base in this domain provides additional opportunities to leverage this specialization.
Anforderungen an die Stelle
- For the Oracle DBA:
- Oracle 19c with proven knowledge around RMAN backup/recovery, ASM, Dataguard, RAC, ...
- Experience with Oracle Multitenant Architecture.
- Hands on experience with database patching, migration and upgrade projects.
- Provide performance tuning advice based on in-depth analysis.
- For the other DBA brands:
- Basic administration of a particular brand.
- Manage backup and recovery and maintain after image .
- Hands on experience with database patching, migration and upgrade projects.
- Scripting and documenting experience.
- Softskills: Beyond all the technical baggage, you will be working in a team of about 30 people where complementarity and collegiality are important. You should be able to think problem-solving, be analytical, communicative, customer-oriented & stress-resistant.
