Reporting to the leader of the Basins Evaluations Team, Global Exploration is offering a high profile and challenging role to grow the exploration portfolio through new area evaluations and recommendations.





We Offer



Maersk Oil needs to add new areas to grow its portfolio, beyond its current footprint. Highest quality basin and play analysis practice will be incorporated. The role will have a strong part in the selection of areas; hence the deliverables are to develop fully evaluated strategic options for consideration.





Key Responsibilities

• Give input to global screening of basins and lead the effort to evaluate selected basins based on attractiveness and strategic fit.

• Formulate new play concepts based on regional knowledge or analogues and formulate ways to systematically mature and capture an emerging play opportunity.

• Ensure identification of subsurface uncertainties and risks, and mitigation plans/work programs that can be used in identifying the best opportunities.

• Work in an integrated project team to take the idea from concept to strategic opportunity for Maersk Oil, allowing proactive capture of opportunities.

• Build knowledge and relationships through internal and external networking and industry collaboration.





Who we are looking for

You will be a globally experienced geoscientist, with speciality in either stratigraphy, structural interpretation, petroleum systems modelling or play fairway mapping.



You will likely have at least 10 years relevant experience, and will have worked multiple basin types in different global settings.



You will have a strong track record of successful recommendations that lead to exploration success.
