About the department

In Insulin Manufacturing II Fermentation we use genetically engineered yeast in the production of our different active pharmaceutical ingredients or their precursors. We are approximately 100 employees in total, in five different teams. We have close collaboration with our recovery plant, which receives our products, and with our QC laboratory where all samples are analysed. Being a bulk production facility, we have a wide range of different work functions, including operator teams, maintenance, calibration, technical/production support and process support.



The job

Depending on your educational background and interests, you will be part of our production support, or our process support. During the first couple of weeks you will learn about a production processes by participating in the daily work in one of our production teams. In the following months you will – together with our chemists and technicians - take part in our daily support, handling change requests, nonconformities and other incidents, as well as troubleshooting and systematic problem solving using. Besides, you will be responsible for the execution of a small project, e.g. implementation of an improvement in the production, or a thorough investigation of an improvement opportunity, e.g. by statistical analysis, workshops etc.



Qualifications

We are looking for an intern who has a strong interest in pharmaceutical production, preferably interest in fermentation technology, and interest in learning Good manufacturing Practices. You are currently studying on your master’s degree in engineering, pharmacy, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related scientific area. We expect candidates to take responsibility for their own learning by being proactive and engaged in the daily work in the team during their stay.



Practicalities

Requirement: Students in their first or second year of their master studies.

Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 4-6 months.

Start date: February 1st, 2016
