Who are we?

You will join DSV an international Transport & Logistics company. In Beglium we have our Regional Shared Service Center of finance where we are responsible for a lot of countries in Western Europe. 

The goal of the job 

The Regional Shared Service Center (R-SSC) Controller his mission is to analyze the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet as well as report for the different entities within their responsibility. At the start you will be responsible for one company code, where your progress will increase your responsibilities within the region

The Controller needs to support Management with clear and objective comments on different daily business matters and provide both Management and Operations with guidance and monitoring regarding business performance.  

The Controller will closely follow-up any risk within the balance sheet, ensuring Management are alerted to any adverse exposure.

Next to this, the controller his position towards operations he is the first contact towards the group controlling team as well as external stake holders as the auditors.

You will start your new position in Belgium (Puurs), here you will be learning more about DSV & our way of working. Depending on your grow path you could move to another European country in the region within 1 or 2 years.

 

Key tasks / responsibilities

- Review the reporting to head office, ensure all deadlines are met, and provide detailed comments on the main events that occurred during the month towards group controlling

- Analyze the results of the company and discuss with the country Management

- Review and improve processes regarding the estimation of the work in progress and gross profit

- Be the single point of contact towards Group for the relevant entities

- Analyze the site results and propose different initiatives to improve the profitability

- Ensure the departmental structure in SAP is up to date at all times

- Monitor the evolution of the gross profit in terms of volumes/margins and provide a forecast for month end

- Prepare the budget

- Monitor the balance sheet to ensure we do not carry any risk and follow-up as necessary

- Participate in the Local Management meetings representing the R-SSC

- Ensure that the different Financial processes are respected locally, not only by the Finance employees, but also Operational personnel

- Prepare information for audits and Group Controlling visits

- Follow-up Operational KPI’s

- Support the review and follow-up of overheads cost

- Liaise closely with country Management and provide additional support as required

- Ad-hoc duties as may arise

 

 Profile

Skills:

- Must be able to communicate well with all levels of the business.

- Qualified controller with at least 2-4 years of proven controlling experience with solid experience in finance, business performance, planning and analysis.

- Audit experience would be beneficial

- IT: Good knowledge of Excel is essential, SAP knowledge would be an advantage

- Personal: Team player, excellent communication skills, have a creative and problem solving approach, ability and willingness to work to tight deadlines

- Languages: Must be fluent in English as this is the Group corporate language.
