As a Development Manager within Qlik R&D, you will work with a market defining product, together with the most talented people in software development, where innovation and knowledge sharing will be a daily aspect of your life at Qlik.

The Development Manager is a 1st line manager position leading a team of 10-20 Front-End software developers, test developers and test engineers in their daily effort to develop truly extraordinary products that enable our customers to discover their business in a unique visual environment. The Development Manager is accountable for their unit and its deliveries, reporting to the Product Area Manager. As an active member of the Product Area management team, the Development Manager contributes to the steering and development of the Product Area.

Brief Description of Responsibilities:

• Responsible for software development activities within your unit, including:
  • work estimation,
  • roadmap, milestone and sprint planning,
  • quality and timeliness of deliveries,
  • resource management
  • monitoring progress and mitigating or escalating deviations
• Alongside People management,serving as company cultural ambassador and role model, leading by example and constantly working to reinforce the Qlik culture and values.
• Encouraging innovation and continuous improvement.
• Working environment responsible to preserve a healthy physical and psychosocial environment within your unit including continual employee upskilling and the opportunity to develop their skills.  
• Responsible for planning and prioritization within your unit, ensuring that processes, methods and best practices that are used in your unit adhere to the overall processes used in R&D.
• Be the escalation point and responsible to raise issues that cannot be resolved within your unit.

Experience:

• At least 8 years of working experience within the software industry
• At least 3 years of experience in leading software development departments
• Solid technical understanding of and interest in Web Front-End software development
• Knowledge and practical experience of Lean and Agile
• Experience from working in a truly global environment

Excellent understanding of different cultures.
