As Director of Partnership management you will be a driver for change while having responsibility for managing a portfolio of Novo Nordisk academic research collaborations and public private partnerships on a global scale. This position has high level exposure and focus from senior management.



About the department

Academic Partnerships, currently with 10 employees, are creating value by managing new external partnerships to gain access to early innovation, knowledge, and talent to support the R&D pipeline. We work across the R&D organisation and have key stakeholders across Novo Nordisk.



The job

Your overall objective is to manage external partnerships to secure access to early innovation and technologies to further strengthen our R&D pipeline and R&D organisational capabilities. As such, you identify partnership opportunities and design collaboration frameworks to ensure best in class execution aligning research collaborations with internal R&D activities and portfolio management processes for maximal portfolio impact.



You will also be responsible for all relevant processes to establish and oversee scientific partnership management of international partnerships to secure consistent internal and external communication, coordination of activities and tracking and follow-up on milestones, deliverables, and resource usage – in collaboration with research management, business development, finance etc. Working cross organisationally, you will recommend and champion external partnership opportunities, manage partnerships towards success, and support senior management decision making.



You will leverage your network, and actively engage with a broad selection of stakeholders including academic researchers and university leadership to ensure that Novo Nordisk becomes the preferred partner for academic collaborations across therapy areas. In addition, you will collaborate with academia, health care providers, regulatory agencies, industry peers, and funding agencies to establish initiatives to improve R&D productivity and outcomes across the health care system.



Qualifications

You have a PhD degree or qualifying experience at same level within life science. This is backed by at least 10 years of proven track record of project management with strategic and analytical focus in the pharmaceutical and/or health care industries. Your career has also provided you with +5 years of international experience to negotiate and manage research collaborations with academia and research institutes.



Your analytical and strategic capabilities are at top level just as your stakeholder management, networking, and communication skills. This combination makes you a strong negotiator, no matter if you are working formally or informally. As director you must naturally be self-driven and resilient and possess high personal integrity and impeccable values.
