CLAIMS HANDLER

We are looking for candidates for the following position at our Breskens Business Support Centre:

Claims Handler (1 fte)



The Claims Handler facilitates the company in handling claims and ensures the right follow-up during the whole process; from reporting up tot closure of the claim and reporting to other departments. You instruct brokers and/or underwriters and administer all details for insurance taken out for the vessels to ensure correct and timely payment of premium and restitution. You ensure to mitigate damage or limit the company’s exposure, take a leading role to protect the interest in case incidents or related cases require intervention. You realise settlement negotiations with third parties, crew or underwriters. In this position you report to the Group Legal Manager and you are member of a team, consisting of ten people.

To excel in this position you should have a Masters degree in Maritime Law and work experience in marine insurance, nautical surveying or a combination of these, preferably with 5 years’ seagoing experience. We are looking for somebody who is able to work in a team and who has also the skills to pick up and complete tasks independently. You should have excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English.
