Chief Engineer

Our client is a well known industry leader designing, manufacturing and selling their products globally.

The challenge

You will be the head of the Danish Engineering department, and after some time also the head of their Indian Engineering department. After gaining 1 -2 years of experience with the company, you will become the overall technical manager for machine design and quality. The Engineering department is the competence centre for machine construction, production support and technological development. The overall purpose of the role is to lead the daily work in the Danish Engineering department and coordinate the work with the Indian Engineering department. Our client has a large machine portfolio, and almost every machine is designed specifically for each customer, therefore, Engineering is very involved in all machines built.

We expect that you will have a hands-on approach to the above work, and furthermore work with production optimization and provide support to the on-going production with technical clarifications. You will be responsible for internal project execution of new product development, improve the current product portfolio and optimize machine production. As a person you actively seek information required for best possible project execution.

In your role, you will help support other departments e.g., sales, purchasing, production, planning with. technical issues and clarifications. The positions refers to the CEO.

You should expect a minor travel requirement of approx. 5-10 travel days per year.

Candidate profile

A degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 5-10 years’ experience from a similar position. We expect that you have the following experiences and qualities:

• Experienced in machine construction mechanical engineering
• Experienced in 3D CAD designing
• Knowledge in design for manufacturing
• Knowledge in product architecture principles
• Experienced in project management

Additionally, we emphasise

• Process understanding to enable analysis and problem solving
• Being both quality and result oriented with a high standard in your deliveries
• Being a team player who can also work independently
• Fluent in English and Danish, command of additional languages is an advantage
• Knowledge of LEAN, Poke-Yoke and kaizens principles is appreciated
• Knowledge of ERP system and IFS in particular is considered an advantage
