During 2011 Toshiba acquired the majority of shares in the Genoa-based company to strengthen its presence in the European and North African markets.

The core business are the High Voltage and Renewable Energy fields, but since 2011 TTDE is working to develop specific solutions in the field of Smart Grid and Smart City.

The Toshiba’s Energy Management System allows smart managing of all the possible power sources (traditional, renewables and Diesel generators) together with loads such as intelligent lighting, recharging stations, etc.
