ISK, The International School of Kalundborg, opened its doors in August 2025 with enrollment of students from Grade 0 to Grade 7, and will be expanding to Grade 8 in 2026 and Grade 9 in 2027. The school is primarily for students from international families living temporarily in Denmark due to work and if space allows, Danish students may also be admitted. It operates under the law governing municipal international schools. The school offers a bilingual program certified by Cambridge, which means that all staff are proficient in English.

ISK provides a rigorous bilingual education for internationally mobile families and globally minded local residents by combining English and Danish instruction with internationally recognized learning standards. We ensure students can follow both Danish and international educational systems while fostering cultural fluency, academic excellence, and personal growth.

ISK is located in Herredsåsen, a peaceful, family-friendly area with easy access to the town center. Adjacent to Herredsåsen School, ISK benefits from a municipality committed to education and innovation. The school is close to parks, sports facilities, and cultural attractions, fostering a rich learning environment. It is well-connected to transport networks, making it easily accessible from Kalundborg and nearby regions.

ISK shares several specialized classrooms with Herredsåsen School, including a library, cafeteria, science labs, arts and crafts rooms, an art studio, and a 'makerspace.' Students will also have access to sports facilities, “Spiralen” movement house, and a nearby public swimming pool where Grade 4 will have swimming lessons.

Recess can be enjoyed in ISK’s dedicated building or outdoors, with access to playgrounds and sports fields shared with Herredsåsen.
