
Staff Nurse
As a Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role in supervising and providing comprehensive nursing care, ensuring the health and comfort of our residents. Your expertise will be pivotal in fostering a supportive and healing atmosphere. We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our team, someone who thrives in a nurturing environment and is passionate about delivering high standards of care.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Managing residents' admissions, discharges, and medication administration in line with best practices.
- Developing individual care plans using a person-cantered approach.
- Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of Care Notes and Plans.
- Maintaining high standards of resident care and hygiene.
- Supervising mealtimes, attending to feeding requirements, and performing necessary personal care tasks.
- Assisting with in-house training, emergency response, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assume responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated residents.
- To plan and deliver a high standard of evidence-based individualised care.
- Lead a Team of Health care Assistants, allocate duties and ensure that they are performing their duties adequately.
- Evaluate resident care needs and in-conjunction with our multi-disciplinary team implement and evaluate individualised care plans that meet the resident’s needs.
- To adhere to the procedures/guidelines in place.
- Maintain clear, concise and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation.
- Must be able to quickly and effectively work in an emergency situation.
- Performs procedures accurately, completely and safely.
- Build strong relationships with residents to encourage trust and understand their needs.
- Knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and ability to participate in inspection process.
- Shifts are rostered Monday to Sunday and will include Night duty.
Requirements
- Registered on the Irish live register (NMBI). Must have active PIN.
- Bachelor’s (preferred).
- 1 year of Nursing experience (preferred).
- Experience/Knowledge of HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013.
- Strong clinical & communication skills are required.
- IT skills, Computer literate in Outlook, Work and Excel.
- Fluent in English language (verbal and written).
- Proven attention to detail and follow through.
