Job description
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and fellow kitchen staff to prepare meals during service times
- Ensure that the food preparation area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
- Ensure restaurant cleanliness daily by clearing surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, washing and sanitizing kitchen utensils
- Maintain accurate food inventories
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- Maintain a neat and tidy appearance by wearing a uniform and adhering to a corporate dress code Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
- Rotate stock items as per established procedures
- Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
- Use specific kitchen machinery to create customized hot and tasty food items to our customers’ preferences
- Work together with the kitchen team to prepare foods such as burgers, nibbles and salads while following cooking instructions, safety procedures, and sanitary requirements
Requirements
- Ability to stand for long hours at a time and work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to read and follow standardized recipes
- Able to work on a shift basis including evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Must be able to speak and write in English
- Previous experience is not necessary but will be considered an asset
- Knowledge of proper food handling procedures
