We are currently looking for a Demi Chef De Partie to work in our Kitchens on permanent or seasonal basis.
The Job
The Demi Chef reports to the Chef De Partie
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Support the Chef de Partie in managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- Learn and adhere to kitchen procedures, including food safety and hygiene practices.
- Prepare ingredients for dishes, including washing, chopping, and measuring, as directed by senior kitchen staff.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
- Monitor and manage stock levels, including reporting any shortages or issues to senior staff.
- Strict adherence to the Food Hygiene standards laid out in training.
- Committing the upmost attention & important to Site Allergen Procedure
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly sanitized and stored.
- Participate in training sessions to develop culinary skills and knowledge of kitchen operations.
- Follow instructions and work efficiently during service periods to ensure timely and accurate food preparation.
- Assist with the execution of daily specials and menu items, including preparing and plating dishes.
- Support the team in any other tasks required to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high standards of food quality.
- Commit to completion of Online training within 2 weeks of Start date.
- Occasionally, you will be asked to assist the team with tasks outside your regular duties to support overall operations.
- Previous Experience in the kitchen is a must.
- Comprehensive knowledge of kitchen preparation, various dishes, and cooking methods.
- Strong understanding of authentic ingredients and suitable substitutes.
- Must hold a valid food handler's license.
- Attention to detail and a passion for culinary innovation.
- Flexibility to work on a shift basis, including weekends and public holidays.
- Good verbal and written communication in English and any other language.
- Maintain a high level of personal hygiene.
- Conforms with hotels grooming standards.
