Project Planner-Water / Wastewater - Loughrea, Co. Galway, Ireland
The Role:
Due to increasing workload on existing multiyear frameworks in Ireland, Northern Ireland and the UK, Glanua require an experienced programmer/planner to work with an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated team from our Galway office.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the role are outlined as follows:
- Creating, maintaining and reviewing a programme of work
- Liaising with design team, engineers and clients, to develop, review and update current programmes on a monthly basis
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for team members, clients and stakeholders
- Breaking large jobs down into phases of development, scheduling and Identify bottlenecks or interdependences
- Using project management tools to plan timeframes
- Working with estimators to calculate the resources needed for a project
- Planning contingency programmes in case timeframes change
- Assist in bids for tender
- Managing several projects programmes with the support of junior planners, Contract or Project Managers
- Working between offices and construction sites (if needed).
- Provide detailed support and assistance to projects as needed
- Produce reports and programme commentary to customers on particular reporting requirements
- Produce programmes / reports as required by the project team, including indication of deviation from the baseline programme
- Formally issue programme updates to the customer as required by contracts specifics
- Attend progress meetings with internal and external customers and deliver presentation on project progress
- Develop and produce fully logic linked and integrated tender programme comprising the design, procurement, construction and commission compliant with tender sum, design and methodology without assistance
- Ensure planning and programming reports are produced on time
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
The main knowledge, skills and experience required of the role are outlined as follows:
- +5 years mid-senior level planning experience
- Ability to develop a design or construction project at project inception stage to inform required team needs
- Demonstrate knowledge of construction preferably in the water/wastewater industry
- Strong communication including writing reports and presenting
- Understanding engineering principles, preferably in the water/wastewater industry
- Working knowledge of NEC and FIDIC Gold form of Contracts
- Good organisation and time management skills
- Methodological in approach to work
- High Attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills and relevant knowledge of Planning software including MS Project, and Primavera P6
- Budget and financial management
- Leadership, Work as part of a team and individually
- A Site Management background is beneficial
