Estimating Manager (Bar Systems) - THAILAND

As a key part of the Bar Systems Department and under the direct supervision of the Bar Systems Manager, you will manage a team of 5 of engineers and draftsmen and AS your primary responsibilities will be to ensure the proper and effective operation of your team, in terms of technical and project management.

This exciting position is based in Bangkok and will include the following responsibilities

Management

·         You will Receive and manage all commercial and technical inquiries related to Our client’s Bar systems and provide technical solutions in line with customer’s requirements and at competitive costs.

·         You will provide continuous technical support to the Sales Team for any technical inquiry related to Bars Systems.

Design

·         Review and approve calculation notes for all bars components and ensure that the solutions proposed are compliant with the load requirements of the project using adequate safety factors.

·         Review/issue and approve design studies, drawings, specifications, or calculations and ensure that those are following related specifications, design codes and/or performance requirements for the project.

·         Review and approve designs and calculations for soft-eyes or other structures using GFRP bars.

Sales Support, Marketing and Training

·         Educate and enhance the technical knowledge of Sales Team through internal presentations, seminars, documents, training sessions, etc.

·         Support the specification and marketing through technical presentations to consultants, contractors and for specific projects as may be necessary.

·         Handle technical inquiries as maybe received from customers.

Product Development

·         Participate to the development and improvement of Our client’s Bar systems through internal workshops with Operations Director, Technical Director and be instrumental in the development of new products.

Project Coordination and Management

·         Manage all bar projects from order to delivery with clear communication with all concerned departments (Planning, Production, Procurement, Quality, Logistics, and Sales) with regards to the schedule requirements, the specifications, the costing targets, etc.

·         Ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget with the specifications and quality requirements.

·         Continuously monitor the progress of each project.

Continuous Development and Expertise building

·         Advise and assist Quality Department to determine suitable controls and acceptance criteria for Bars Systems.

·         Advise and assist Procurement Department to determine appropriate raw materials specifications and evaluate potential suppliers.

·         Study and analyze relevant standards, codes and specifications related to bars systems and ensure that the team is up-to-date on those issues and receives proper training if needed.

·         Lobby and promote Bars Systems through professional associations, articles or technical papers in magazine or through seminars as may be agreed with your management.

You are the person we are looking for if you have:

·         A Bachelor or higher degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering.

·         Experience: At least 10 years of experience in civil and structural design and construction supervision for Consultancy Company or Contractor.

·         Understand various construction techniques and able to propose proper application of company's products to customer.

·         Experience in preparing of structural and geotechnical design calculation, and drawings for civil and steel buildings and infrastructures work.

·         Analytical and problem solving thinking, creative with capacities to explore and interpreter alternatives and information.

·         Customer and service-mind oriented, good team player.

·         Self initiative and enthusiasm.

·         Excellent command in English both written and spoken.

·         Computer proficiency in CAD software and Solid Work program is a plus.

·         An international experience and Cultural awareness is Mandatory
