GerêsTER – Rural Tourism is a family-run rural tourism project located in the heart of the Gerês region, in northern Portugal.

Our project was born from the desire to preserve local traditions, rural life and the authentic connection between people, nature and culture.

GerêsTER offers carefully restored traditional stone houses where guests can enjoy a peaceful stay surrounded by mountains, forests and the natural beauty of the Peneda-Gerês National Park.

More than accommodation, we provide authentic rural experiences that allow visitors to discover the true spirit of the region.

Seasonal Hospitality Assistant – Summer 2026
Location: Campo do Gerês, Terras de Bouro (Braga District), Northern Portugal – Peneda-Gerês National Park

A small family-run rural tourism property located in the village of Campo do Gerês, inside the Peneda-Gerês National Park, is looking for a seasonal hospitality assistant to join our team during the summer season.

Campo do Gerês is a small and peaceful rural village surrounded by mountains, forests and nature. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hospitality and a quiet, nature-based lifestyle.

We are a small, close-knit team, and we value a respectful, supportive and collaborative working environment. We believe that good communication, mutual help and a positive atmosphere are essential for a good summer experience.

Work period:
1 July 2026 – 30 September 2026

Working time:
40 hours per week
Working schedule: Rotating and flexible shifts depending on occupancy and daily needs

Main responsibilities (primary focus):

• Housekeeping in accommodation units (cleaning and preparing rooms)
• Laundry tasks (washing, drying, ironing and organisation)

Additional responsibilities (during busy periods):

• Preparation of simple tapas and snacks
• Table service and guest assistance in the restaurant/bar
• Cleaning and organisation of restaurant and common areas

In our small team, tasks and schedules may vary depending on the needs of the property, especially during peak periods.

Candidate profile:

• Responsible and organised
• Comfortable with cleaning and housekeeping work
• Friendly and able to interact with guests
• Flexible and willing to support different tasks when needed
• Positive attitude and team spirit
• Open to communication and teamwork
• Portuguese language required OR strong willingness to learn and use Portuguese daily
• Basic English required
• Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality is appreciated

Important information about the location:
Campo do Gerês is a rural village inside the national park. It offers a beautiful natural environment and a peaceful lifestyle, but it is not a city environment.
