Future Building Initiative
Under the Future Building Initiative, a dedicated team staffed by Intreo from the Department of Social Protection, SOLAS and the Education and Training Boards is supporting recruitment and training for the construction industry. The Department of Social Protection is leading the initiative to drive national and international recruitment activities in collaboration with EURES and it is being part-financed under the Government’s Housing for All Implementation Fund. In Ireland, when skilled/qualified labour cannot be sourced, the work is focused on those with no or low skills, whereas the focus of recruitment from abroad is on those with professional or trade experience to attract them into job and training opportunities within the Irish construction sector.
