We are looking for registered Nurses to our Surgical Clinic in Falun, Sweden
Are you a registered nurse interested in an engaging and fulfilling role in a surgical ward or outpatient care? That's great news! We are looking for someone who wants to work as part of a team alongside professionals such as doctors, nursing assistants, dietitians, and physiotherapists. Together, we strive to provide excellent and safe healthcare for our patients.
Working in the Surgical Clinic is both educational and diverse, a fact greatly appreciated by our staff. Common tasks include pre- and post-operative care, which involves clinical assessments, rounds, medication management, and specimen collection. As a nurse in the Surgical Clinic, you will learn a lot and have the opportunity to advance in your profession.
The Surgical Clinic is located at Falun Hospital, a modern building with a picturesque view of central Falun. The Surgical Clinic comprises a surgical outpatient department, an oncology outpatient department, a bariatric outpatient department, and three inpatient wards specializing in various surgical fields.
Ward 11: Surgical Acute Care (SAC) & Upper Gastrointestinal Tract
Ward 14: Lower Gastrointestinal Tract
Ward 15: Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Urology, & Endocrinology
Our team is dedicated and highly competent, fostering an open and positive work environment. We continuously strive to improve the working conditions, patient safety and further develop our services.
We have ward-based support services to handle tasks outside direct patient care, including cleaning, food handling, inventory management and patient transportation. This allows healthcare professionals to focus on patient care within their areas of expertise.
Individual scheduling is in place enabling you to have some control over your work hours.
In the outpatient care setting you will collaborate with professionals from various disciplines. Your role as a nurse is to act as the primary contact for patients within diagnostic areas such as breast, thyroid, prostate, urinary tract/kidneys, burns, plastic surgery, vascular disease, or gastrointestinal disorders. Your tasks will be diverse and you'll have ample opportunities to plan your day in coordination with your team. Your responsibilities will include conducting your own clinics, various treatments, pre- and post-operative care, surgery planning, multidisciplinary treatment conferences, telephone advice, and overall patient coordination.
Are you tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city and commuting? Come to Falun! In Dalarna's regional capital you can easily find satisfaction in an active life filled with outdoor activities, nature, and culture. The Lugnet sports arena is just a stone's throw from the hospital and is Europe's largest contiguous sports facility. Around Falun, you'll find stunning nature and many beautiful lakes. From Falun, it's only a few hours to the mountains in Sälen, Idre and Grövelsjön as well as to the Stockholm/Uppsala region, Västerås, Gävle and Örebro.
We are looking for a licensed nurse who is interested in surgery and thrives in both team and independent work with varied tasks. You find it stimulating to provide healthcare in a modern clinic and work responsibly and evidence-based in accordance with our procedures.
This position is suitable for both newly graduated nurses and those with prior experience. Personal suitability including good teamwork, flexibility, and independence is highly emphasized.
Working in a multi-professional team in the clinic is educational, as you become part of the work of several professional groups in patient care. Another advantage of team collaboration is that you don't have to make decisions alone. The tasks are varied and you gain insight into large parts of the patient's care process.
You will receive a clinically adapted introduction and ongoing training through internal courses, medical lectures and our basic year program. You will become part of a skilled team and gain experience and competence that allows for the development of broad and deep knowledge.
Additional relevant education or prior experience in surgical care and strong communication skills, both oral and written, are advantageous. For us, fitting into our clinic is more important than having an impressive list of credentials. Feel free to reach out for more information.
