Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within Vestas Power Solutions (VPS), you'll find our department, Control Platform Software, as part of Applications, Controls & Electrical.
Our department is responsible for delivering the software platform, networking solutions and related tools to all Vestas turbines. As an R&D Developer, you will join the work on new turbine platforms, improvement projects or future technology projects.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Working with stakeholders in the organization to understand requirements and drive the software architecture and design of new features
- Development and maintenance of new functionality in our software platform
- Engage in the early-stage feasibility studies of new products
- Engage during the functional and software requirements definition
- Contribute in the continuous improvement of our processes and tools
- Facilitate knowledge sharing by writing and updating technical documentation
Qualifications
Your qualifications include:
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science or similar subject from an accredited university
- Advanced programming skills in C and C++, socket programming, network concepts and design
- Experience defining architecture and design of complex features and solutions
- Experience with network, OS and application performance analysis and optimization
- Domain knowledge from working with distributed embedded control systems
- Experience with distributed heterogenous and multithreaded software design, multiplatform middleware, and HW/platform abstraction layers
- Experience with Linux operating systems including kernel and driver development, Inter-Process Communication (IPC) mechanisms

- Experience working on a large code base that is continuously maintained and extended over time
- Experience in real time embedded systems
- Programming skills in scripting languages Ruby/Python/Bash
- Experience with GIT, JIRA and other Atlassian tools
- Experience with SCRUM and Agile Development
- Experience with interfacing to functional safety systems
- Experience with different processor architectures

Your work location will be our office in Aarhus, Denmark or Porto, Portugal.
