Subject Matter Expert for General Ledger (m/f)

Then you might be our new subject matter expert for general ledger in the newly established Finance Centre of Excellence. Here we ensure that the best practice accounting processes are continuously improved. We also ensure consistent high quality from all involved in the processes. This is done through maintaining a good working relationship with the outsourced provider and through working closely with the stakeholders in our global services and corporate finance functions. The Finance Centre of Excellence team consists of subject matter experts and process owners for accounts receivable, accounts payable and general ledger as well as FICO resources. Areas of Responsibility: Reporting to the Head of Accounting Center of Excellence, you will be supporting with valuable expertise on specific operations of the General Ledger accounting department as a subject matter expert. Key Tasks: •Provides subject matter expertise by delivering guidance and advice to the finance accounting teams in the form of recommendations based on significant quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial reporting guidelines •Addresses, as needed, escalations and responds to internal inquiries on complex issues as a subject matter expert, ensuring issue and error resolution on root case analysis and support work with scope extensions •Interacts with financial service team to jointly work on solving repeated process deficiencies •Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies for the General Ledger accounting function, together with guidance for Process Owners in process deficiencies •Ensures compliance with internal policies and controls with external regulations, by using appropriate measurement tools of audit efficiency •Maximizes the effectiveness and accuracy of current accounting systems by optimizing existing systems •Leads training and skills development initiatives as a subject matter expert, by defining training needs, developing training methods and ad-hoc packages Your Profile: •Bachelor or master in finance, accounting or audit •Minimum 2-4 years’ experience working with finance processes •Strong quality mindset, interpersonal and presentation skills •Good networker into regions and various levels •High level of drive and commitment, ability to challenge traditions •High degree of flexibility and sense of urgency •Ability to differentiate situations and adapt communication in nearly all situations •Experienced with anticipating future sources of conflict and taking actions to address underlying causes •Very good MS Office knowledge •Proficient in written and spoken English What we can offer: Robust structures, quick decision making paths and a corporate culture that encourages achievement based on trust, together with a lot of freedom to implement your own ideas is the professional environment that we are offering to you.
