Since first opening our doors in 2005, Autism Initiatives Ireland has provided specialist autism services for adults across our Residential, Respite, Day, and Community Support Services.

What will be expected of me in my new role?
- Building positive relationships with the people we support, their families and our colleagues.
- Ensuring the needs and preferences of the people we support are consistently met daily.
- Promoting the independence, well-being, and quality of life of the people we support.
- Liaising with families, the multidisciplinary team and any other personnel as directed/necessary.

We are looking for people who can:

- Assist with daily living activities and routines including personal care
- Support me to engage in my community
- Help me learn new skills
- Support me to understand my rights and help me make my own decisions
Qualifications required:
- A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; OR
- A relevant 3rd level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work/Psychology with at least 2 years recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs; AND
- Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker
- OR proof of application in progress with CORU.
Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker
- Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
- Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism
- Proven ability to work on own initiative
- Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
- Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities
- Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan
- Fluent English and excellent communication skills
- Full, clean drivers licence (manual) essential
