Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in the commercial management of residential projects, working closely with the Commercial Manager and project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities: Ownership of the commercial aspects of our projects, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration. Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and budgets, monitoring costs against budget and identifying variances. Lead the tendering process for subcontractor packages, reviewing bids, negotiating contracts, and making recommendations to senior management. Administer construction contracts, including reviewing contract terms, preparing subcontract agreements, and managing variations and claims. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and measurements, ensuring quantities are in line with project requirements. Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with project costs and contracts, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize commercial exposure. Prepare regular cost reports, cost forecasts, and financial statements for management and client review. Manage change control processes, assessing the impact of changes on project costs and schedules and negotiating equitable solutions with stakeholders. Prepare and defend contractual claims, ensuring compliance with contract terms and applicable regulations. Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management,
Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Proficiency in cost estimating, cost control, and financial management.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
