- designing offshore wind turbine handling equipment Job ID: 136244 Location: Vejle Organization: Siemens in Denmark – Siemens Wind Power – http://www.siemens.com/windpower Mode of employment: full time Our portfolio of significant, technically complex offshore wind farms is increasing worldwide Therefore, we are looking for Mechanical Engineers for the Offshore Engineering department located in Vejle, Denmark. As a Mechanical Engineer you will be responsible for the development and detailed design of equipment needed for transporting, lifting and storing large wind turbine components on their way from the production plant to the installation sites offshore. You will also take part in the development of tomorrow’s turbine installation technology. What are my responsibilities? • Analyzing the logistical value chain with regard to handling equipment • Making conceptual design of new equipment • Redesigning existing equipment • Performing structural analyses of equipment • Creating documentation related to the use of the equipment • Providing technical back office support to project and sales teams during the contract negotiation and execution phases What do I need to qualify for this job? You have a strong technical background and minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably combined with 3+ years of engineering experience from the wind turbine business or similar industries where large components are handled. Furthermore, it would be an advantage if you have experience with both design and structural analysis. As a person, you are action-oriented, well-structured and able to create and maintain an overview of complex tasks. At the same time, you have a positive mindset and are good at networking, and you possess excellent English skills, orally as well as in writing. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated. What else do I need to know?
